Wandering through the Lake District, Cumbria, UK my drone and I came upon so many cool places. This latest trip we touched Bowness-on-Windermere, and then Ullswater Lake.

Early snow fall near Elk Island Park
Early snow fall near Elk Island Park and Lamont county
November’s early snow fall and the drop in temperatures surprised us. These images were taken on the borders of Elk Island Park in Alberta. I almost always travel outside the cities with a drone.
There are some pretty fabulous views outside of Alberta’s major urban settings. Early snow fall and the rising sun make it such a lovely place to be.
All these images were taken with a drone shooting at 4K.
This snowfall was a bit unexpected. It was an early snowfall, coming in early November and setting the tone for the rest of the fall and early winter.
It wasn’t as cold as it looks, however I did make a tactical error and didn’t take the correct pair of gloves to manage the controller and controls with. I ended up working with one exposed hand for several minutes at a time.

Traveling in the UK
Traveling in the UK and I took my Mavic Mini just for fun! Got some great shots. The challenge has been with the ‘travel’ sim card I installed in my iphone. I’ve learned a lot about geofencing in the UK.
Images of EARTH DAY 2022
Images from a driving trip to Hinton Alberta on EARTH DAY 2022. The hypocrisy of using a fossil fuel powered vehicle to get these images for EARTH DAY isn’t lost on me.

thanks to the folks at Sir5r.com for the permission to use this imagery. That’s a bit narcissistic given that I am the pilot at Woodpecker Drone Services.
Thank you for having a look at these images

Rock ‘n August 2021
Rock ‘n August is a weekend long event in St. Albert that showcases classic cars. This is a vanity piece for the guys and girls who love the old cars, and love to restore them and show them off.

Bridges over the Sturgeon River at St. Albert
Bridges over the Sturgeon River
The river here is flanked by trails maintained as part of St. Albert’s commitment to its population to maintain green space. The municipal plan has mandated that no home in the community should be further than a set distance from access to walking or biking trails. The network of trails throughout the city is known as the Red Willow Trail. A perfect way to explore the city, and a nice way to underscore nature within an urban setting as we continue moving through the world. Â
